  • The Preacher

    Pastor Daniel Smith is a second-generation pastor called to give a voice to under-represented people through biblical preaching and leadership. Pastor Smith attended Midwestern Baptist College in Pontiac, Michigan, for Seminary studies. He currently holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Counseling, both from Oakland University of Rochester, Michigan. He is presently in the DMin program at The Interdenominational Theological Center of Atlanta, Georgia. Smith is currently the Senior Pastor of Messiah Baptist Church of Grand Rapids, the oldest African-American Baptist Church in the city.

    As with many musical artists, Dan Smith developed his musical talents in the traditional Black Baptist church. The product of a family of singers and musicians, he’s taken time to develop his musical skills to range from song writer/arranger/producer to recording engineer and studio owner. His company is named World Premier Music, and the eclecticism that is generated from his catalog comes from an appreciation of many musical genres. The soul sound of the 60’s is Smith’s favorite, to include music influences like James Brown, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, and of course the sounds of Motown.

    Every facet of presentation that Dan Smith is involved requires a great deal of audio and visual invigoration. In addition to many other skills, Graphic Design and Video Production has become a powerful element to added to his repertoire. Becoming proficient in the various programs of Adobe Suite, Smith has become a go-to-guy in marketing and presentation. “I believe that a good business model includes elements that allow our verbal communications to be just as visual as they are verbal. I believe that the power of human exchange is one that allows all aspects of people’s senses to be captured.”
